Easter is just around the corner and you're still looking for ideas for the children's Easter baskets? In this post, we'll show you how to create and fill a super cute Easter basket! We also have an extra Easter recipe for the whole family to bake 😉
Creating Easter baskets
What you need:
- Wooden basket (preferably with a handle)
- Some fabric for lining
- Easter grass
- Fabric ribbon in any color
- Colored paper & scissors
- Adhesive tape & glue
Instructions:
- Line the wooden basket with the fabric. This prevents Easter grass from falling out & makes disposal easier. The fabric should hang over the edge of the basket.
- Fill the basket with Easter grass to create a green layer, but leave enough room for the contents.
- Tie a bow around the side of the basket as a decoration.
- Cut out two bunny ears from the paper (2x brown + 2x pink). The pink ears should be cut slightly smaller than the brown ones. Then glue one pink ear onto each brown ear & attach them to the top of the basket handle with adhesive tape.
- Now all that's left is the filling!
Filling Easter baskets
Classically, colorful, painted eggs are the first things to go into the Easter basket, along with a chocolate Easter bunny or lamb 🐰. But chocolate & sweets aren't the only things that need to go in the basket. Here are some practical ideas for filling your children's Easter baskets:
1. Easter books
- Conni and the Easter Bunny
- Easter on the Seagull Way (book series)
- Easter coloring book
2. Toys for the garden & outdoors
3. Craft supplies (colored pencils, craft kits, scratch art, …)
4. Anio 6 Kids Smartwatch
5. Outdoor activities (jump rope, sidewalk chalk, …)

- Place a shaped egg made of aluminum foil in the center of the Easter nest. Brush the braid with egg & let it rise for approx. 25 minutes. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for approx. 40 minutes.
- Once the Easter nest is finished baking, let it cool & then place a real, hard-boiled egg in the nest instead of the aluminum foil egg. Green Easter grass can also be used as decoration
